A look at the ways in which Labour failed Lambeth on issues of crime and community safety. The low point came in February 2002 when the Labour leader of Lambeth Council was summoned to the Home Office and ordered to draw up a plan of improvements. Since Labour lost control of the council, things have gradually been getting better.
