Lib Dem John Roberts will work hard for the people of Princes Ward

John Roberts has been selected to fight the Princes Ward by-election for the Liberal Democrats. This by-election was caused by ex-Labour Councillor Sam Townend resigning after he came within hours of automatically being kicked off the council for non-attendance.

John lives in Princes ward on the Ethelred Estate, and has lived locally for 20 years. He is a former member of the Metropolitan Police Authority and has been involved with many local groups and organisations such as Vauxhall City Farm, the Kennington, Oval and Vauxhall Forum and the Kennington Association.

Caroline Pidgeon, Lib Dem Parliamentary Campaigner, said: "In John we have a really exciting choice as a candidate and someone who would be a brilliant councillor for Princes Ward. Residents in Princes ward have been badly let down by Labour, but in John we have someone with a proven track record of working hard for the local community.

"Liberal Democrats have continued to work hard in Princes ward over the last two years - for instance campaigning to save the Vauxhall St post office - and we know that John will get things done for local people."
