Gavin is collating views on the parking restrictions on Kennington Road

We have recently been working with a group of Bishops residents who have concerns about changes to the northern bus lane on Kennington Road. As your representatives, we organized a meeting with Lambeth Council officers in January. Having listened to your concerns concerning both the changes and the consultation process, a follow-up meeting in Roots and Shoots was organized in February where Richard Ambler (Lambeth Council) came back with more resident-friendly proposals.

These were welcomed, but there are still worries that Transport for London and Lambeth Council are restricting parking rights for no justifiable reason. Lambeth has promised to come back a third time having taken on board the depth of feeling on this issue.

At the meeting, it was also clear that there are general concerns about road safety on Kennington Road, and Cllr Gavin Dodsworth has promised to collate these concerns and present them to Lambeth at a later date. If you have anything to say on this matter, please contact him via e-mail: gdodsworth [at] lambeth.gov.uk

The message from this is that this is your ward and Council changes affect your lives. As Liberal Democrat Councillors, we feel the voice of the resident should be heard and pledge to continue listening and acting.
