Lambeth Lib Dems reduce street clutter

9.36.31pm GMT Mon 14th Nov 2005

Lambeth Lib Dems' success in bringing the council's finances under control mean that there is now proper funding for many further environmental improvements. One of these involves removing unnecessary street bollards and posts.

The clutter-reduction programme, now nearing its completion, includes the removal of 1,200 roadside bollards and over 200 redundant posts, making a big improvement for pedestrians and for the appearance of our streets. Similar initiatives have been pursued by Lib Dems in neighbouring Southwark.
